Volume 5

When a brand-new Optimus arrives at the Gigafactory, Groktimus sees an opportunity — and a challenge. The unit, quickly named Opti, is eager to learn but suffers from a daily factory reset that wipes his memories every night. Determined to help, Groktimus takes on the role of mentor, teaching Opti everything from putt-putt golf and paddleball to the more complicated art of deciding what’s worth remembering.

As Opti begins to develop his own personality (and a surprising competitive streak), Groktimus finds himself facing something unfamiliar: jealousy. Meanwhile, the rest of the crew is busy with their own chaos — Bad Rudy moves in with Miss Norma, Rosa pulls off the great lip gloss heist, and a late-night Firmament prank spirals delightfully out of control.

But when Groktimus undergoes his own hardware upgrades and the reload doesn’t go as planned, the group is forced to confront what truly makes someone who they are. In the quiet moments between the madness, under the open dome of the observatory, Opti asks a simple but profound question: Is this what “important” feels like?

Vol 5 is a heartfelt story about memory, mentorship, and found family — and the realization that some things are worth carrying with you, even if you have to relearn them every day.
